Beadie Beardie Beardie

This Fellow had failed to produce me a lot of fertile eggs this season. So far it had laid twice in two month. 1st clutch with 20+ infertile eggs and 2nd clutch 6 eggs with 4 infertile.

So this pair will be resting from each other for 6 months, separate them then till the next 6 months then I will try to breed them again. Hopefully next time when I breed them, I will have my luck and successfully lay fertile eggs.

Another Surprise

This is a surprise to me. After 0.1 reduced pattern ball finish shedding and feeding. I place my 1.0 lemon pastel in her enclosure just for fun to see whether they will lock. To my surprise, I saw locked. My reduced pattern just 1.1kg and it still underweight for breeding. Well since they had locked I might as well let it be. I know few expert ball breeder recommend not to breed your female until she reach 1.2 kg an above. well So, I did not listen, It still early and its only it 1st locked, for them to actually ovulate and lay her eggs and will take at least take few more months by then I'm sure she will weight 1.2kg above on the requirement weight to breed. I think I'm safe to say it should be alright as that reduced pattern hardly refuse food. Kinda garbage disposal.

Male Pastel is just 800grams plus, I think this rainy season factor may coz my 1.0 pastel in horny mode. Wasn't plan actually to breed both pair till next November, But Since they had locked, I might as well continue breeding them. Make sure reduced pattern do not skip any meal from now on. From this pairing I believe I will get 50% pastel and 50% normal, But I'm hoping for some reduced Pattern Pastel. That will Be so cool. Something like Zebra pastel. Pastel Pastel Pastel. Anyone want local Captive breed Pastel?
In the same time I paired my Albino X Normal again. Its their 8th locked so far. Will still paired them till normal female stop accepting Albino little thingy.

Well! What can i say. If everything goes well. An local Captive breed ball python will be available soon in Brunei. So you guy do not have to buy any more expensive ball python from overseas. In Brunei, Someone can Breed them too. So just wait. It will become affordable.

Rodents Vs Birds

What do you feed yours snakes? Are they Stubborn feeder? Here is some of the food I offer my snakes. variety of choice. Baby Chick, Baby quail, Rat, Mice and hamster. I been ask few times by some snakes keeper and few other exotics pet hobbyist. what the different between bird and rodents as food for snakes. Here What I think after giving all those kind of variety meal for my pet snakes for few years.

baby Chick
Baby quail
Mice
Rats

I personally think. Rodent is good to fattening ur snakes especially if your wanted to make them quickly to breeding size as long not make your snakes too obese and after it digested it food, The snakes poo is like some dog poo with the shape like unripe small banana where as for bird, it worth to try for those stubborn feeder, Bird make your snakes skin glow and shinning and to make them to breeding size is bit slow maybe a baby bird do not have enough meat in it and it poo is watery n make ur vivarium dirtier. My guess it must been from the bird feather. Snakes will still grow but just bit slower. Basically as long they eat. As a snakes keeper. That itself is satisfying enough and nothing to be worried.
I know some keeper will stress out when their pet Snakes refuse food for few weeks or sometimes up to few months. Actually that shouldn't be any problem. Snakes can last 6 and up to a year without food. As long as ur snakes is healthy and do not lose too much weight. But if i does lose a lot of weight and still do not show sign wanted to eat. Try different type of food before seeking last option to assist feeding them.
S0 for all snakes keeper. Good Luck on trying all those food item for your pet snakes. I'm sure it easily available In the markets in Brunei if u know how and where to look..

Check out my sexy gravid Corn

It January now and it's been almost 5 months since I started my corn breeding project. My corns had been in and out of hibernation, mating and now I guess it is time for the corns to lay eggs soon. I noticed 3 corn are gravid now:- my Anery Corn, my Snow Corn and DannySia Amel Stripe. I'm Super excited about it. The 2 other corns:- my Amel Stiped Corn (that I'm not quite sure coz she still eats after shedding, which is not what a normal gravid female corn would do, as they wont eat after shedding until she lay eggs) and the Reversed Okeetee ( who still doesnt want to mate yet)

Obviously after going through a long process of hibernation, mating n now up to stage of being gravid and soon laying eggs, what i dont want to see is losing all or even some of the eggs during incubation. Therefore, i have been preparing for the incubation period by gathering all the necessary equipment and materials. I had bought some vermiculite for the incubation of my soon-to-be-coming eggs. I personally think vermiculite is the best substrate to be used for incubation. I had also prepared some perlite for trial this time as i heard it gives a cleaner and much dryer surface.

Okay, I just got myself a new pair of Blood Python. Actually I'm suppose to put them in quarantine, not to disturb them but when i offered them food they strike an eat. Borneo blood python can be found in Brunei but to find it wasn't that easy. I use to keep an adult wild caught Borneo Blood python But she went to heaven as she starved herself to death.
